Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) is an American actor, singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside well-known directors and actors in stage films and television. She continues this award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. As it is a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney Digital Television's channels. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the helm of the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal actors into the very first impeachment proceeding in America in more than a century. In two seasons, Ashford was the main character of CBS's hit series B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford is an Denver origins native, and now splits her time between Los Angeles.
